SPCA : take action

Whether you’re an dissatisfied resident or just a concerned animal lover, the important thing is that all the allegations are thoroughly investigated.     Immediate corrective action should be taken for any problems found.

We can not rest until a proper investigation is done.    We will continue to politely contact elected officials, news media, and anyone else who might be of help.

REMEMBER:  They are still innocent until proven guilty.   We are not judging.  We simply want complaints investigated and some sort of oversight put in place.

7 Easy ways to take action today:

1) Contact the County Commissioners, since they decide if and how much the CCSPCA gets each year

2) Contact the State of Maryland Attorney General’s office to request a criminal investigation be done

3) Contact Delegate Smigiel to thank him for his aggressive action on this important issue

4) If you have any firsthand complaints or c0ncerns of any kind, forward them to SPCA management and to Del Mike Smigiel.   When an investigation begins, please don’t hesitate to come forward to tell your story to investigators.

5) Email or call the news media to let them know this is occurring and that it’s an important issue.   Area papers include The Cecil Whig, The News Journal, The Baltimore Sun, and the Aegis.

Also consider writing a Letter to the Editor and send it to your local paper.

6) Attend any Cecil County meetings or forums in person  (dates to be posted to this site or on Smigiel’s site).    If you’re a resident, you have a right to speak at the open County Commissioners meeting.   Just sign up before meeting starts to add your name to the roster, and you’re guaranteed 5 minutes to speak.

7) Visit the Action links (right column) for other ideas of things to do.
